The International Nanotechnology Laboratory
The International Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) is an intergovernmental organisation dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge and technological innovation in the field of nanotechnology.
Through collaborative research efforts and partnerships with leading institutions and industries, INL aims to contribute to the global scientific community. With state-of-the-art facilities and a talented team of scientists, engineers, and researchers, INL conducts interdisciplinary research across various fields, including materials science, electronics, energy, healthcare, and environmental sustainability.
INL strives to make meaningful contributions to society by translating research findings into practical applications that address real-world challenges. As a respected institution in the field, INL remains committed to fostering innovation and driving positive change through its scientific endeavors.
Role in the project
In the TEAPOTS project, INL plays a pivotal role by providing essential hardware and expertise for data gathering and analysis.
Through the deployment of environmental sensors, humidity sensors, plant growth sensors, biomass estimation sensors, and monitoring units for the Pyrolysis Unit (PU), Compost Heat Recovery System (CHRS), Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) unit, and cooler unit. INL facilitates data collection which is crucial for environmental monitoring and energy production.
The deployment of sensors and monitoring units by INL ensures continuous data collection from both pilots/use cases, contributing to the creation of a comprehensive database documenting field conditions over time. This data is then analyzed to optimize agricultural practices, energy production processes, and environmental impact assessments. Furthermore, INL's expertise in sensor development enhances the project's capabilities by providing specific sensors tailored to complement satellite data, offering valuable insights into plot conditions and greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural activities. Overall, INL's contributions are instrumental in enhancing the project's effectiveness and supporting informed decision-making for agricultural management and renewable energy production.
