ECO FARM - Italy
ECO FARM’s aim is to support to local producers, with particular attention to environmental sustainability and respect for nature. Located in Sicily, in an agricultural area with a high potential of biomass of different nature deriving from the cultivation of peaches, apricots, melons, table and must grapes, wheat and oil olives to be exploited for the production of renewable energy.
Additionally, thanks to its location and the already developed network of farmers which provide agricultural products to be transformed into food, the company can find other forms of biomass such as poultry manure.
Current status
The focus on eco-sustainability and the reduction of CO2 emissions led the company to invest in photovoltaic system of 200 kW and weather stations.
Project goal
Through the TEAPOTS project, Eco Farm will evaluate and study the best strategy for energy independence and renewable energy production. In addition, thanks to pyrolysis and ORC the goal is to obtain a product such as biochar, to be used as an organic fertilizer reducing the use of chemical fertilizers.

FILIA GHI - Greece
FILIA GHI is dedicated to producing high-quality wines while respecting the land and adhering to sustainable practices. Situated in Thessaly, Greece, in a rural area rich in potential biomass, the company aims to explore renewable energy production through the use of agricultural residues. The site offers opportunities to utilize residual prunings sustainably from vineyards, olive trees, and almond trees.
In addition to its commitment to eco-friendly wine production, FILIA GHI collaborates with local cooperatives, creating opportunities to repurpose biomass from regional crops such as cotton and maize.
The company is already committed to eco-conscious initiatives, having installed a 20kW photovoltaic system that offsets approximately 32 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
Current status
Project goal
The TEAPOTS project at FILIA GHI aims to utilize local agricultural biomass, including vineyard, olive, and almond prunings, as well as grape pomace, to generate renewable electricity and cooling for the winery. Additionally, the project will make use of biochar as an eco-friendly fertilizer, and creates a replicable model for green energy in the region.
