Key Milestone: Sensors Installation by INL
We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in the TEAPOTS project! Our partner, the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL), has successfully installed advanced sensors in a pilot site near Braga, Portugal, on a local farm named Dornelas.
The installation, which began in June 2024, marks a crucial step toward achieving the project’s objectives. The sensors are mounted on poles and include:
Weather station for monitoring wind speed and direction, rainfall, air temperature and humidity, and atmospheric pressure.
Spectrometer to measure NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index), essential for assessing plant health.
Camera designed to quantify biomass growth, providing visual data on crop development.
These tools will gather vital data on crop growth and field logistics, contributing to a comprehensive database of field-specific historic conditions. By analyzing this data, TEAPOTS aims to enhance agricultural activities such as crop harvesting and pruning.
This milestone not only advances the project’s goals but also reinforces our commitment to delivering innovative, data-driven solutions for sustainable agriculture.
Stay tuned as we continue to implement cutting-edge technologies to revolutionize farming practices!
